Women's Basketball loses at home to Alma, 67-52

The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost to Alma at home on Saturday, 67-52.

Kalamazoo trailed by just four points (20-16) midway through the first half, but an eight minute scoring drought put the Hornets down 12 at halftime (32-20). Alma extended the lead early in the second half and led by double digits the rest of the way.

Alma shot 36.5 percent overall while sinking 17-of-27 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 29.1 percent overall while going 14-for-19 at the line. The Hornets held a 45-43 edge in rebounds.

Hannah Maness led Kalamazoo with 11 points and four rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.

Anne Colonius recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Katherine Johnston added 10 points with four rebounds while Nicole Antoine fouled out with nine points and five rebounds.

Kalamazoo returns to action at Hope College on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m.
