NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 88-47 to No. 12 Carthage College in the Manchester University Main View Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Reds (1-1) jumped out to an early lead before taking a 51-25 lead into halftime. Carthage outscored Kalamazoo 37-22 in the second half.
Carthage shot 56.9 percent from the field while sinking 10-of-20 three pointers. Kalamazoo was held to just 23.2 percent overall while hitting 7-of-19 three's. Carthage held a 41-35 advantage in total rebounds, with the Hornets holding a 14-11 edge on the offensive end.
Grace Smith scored nine points with six rebounds while Hannah Maness scored nine points with four rebounds.
Morgan Overstreet scored six points while Nicole Antoine and Querubin Dubois each finished with five points. Antoine also grabbed six rebounds, including four on the offensive end.
Kalamazoo (0-2) plays its home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. against Bluffton University.
