Women's basketball falls to Calvin on the road

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 85-71 by No.6 Calvin on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets closed out the regular season with a record of 16-9, the best it's been since the 01-02 season.

The Hornets did not play well in the first half, combining to shoot just 32 percent while turning the ball over nine times. They also allowed the Knights to shoot nearly 55 percent from the field. This led to Kalamazoo facing a 20 point deficit at halftime.

The Hornets found their offense in the second half and shot a much improved 45.9 percent from the line. Emily Lindsay shot well all game and scored a game-high 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting. Lindsay also sunk five three-pointers for the second game in a row. Querubin Dubois had her strongest game of the season, scoring a season-high 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Dubois also had a team-high seven rebounds. Kelsey Adamski and Grace Smith had five assists each.

The Hornets will now spend the next few days preparing for the semi-finals of the MIAA tournament at Hope on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
