Women's Basketball falls at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 86-45 at Trine University in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday. 

Trine took an early lead and never looked back, taking a 41-20 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo played Trine nearly even in the third quarter as the Hornets were outscored 18-16, but never were able to make a run to cut the deficit.

Trine shot an impressive 63.8 percent overall while limiting Kalamazoo to 34.7 percent. The Hornets were also held to just 1-of-16 on 3-point attempts.

Emily Kozal led Kalamazoo with 11 points and four rebounds. Claire Slaughter added nine points with eight rebounds.

Grace Smith, Danielle Simon and Alayna Tomlinson each finished with six points for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo returns to action this Saturday, Dec. 12 at Olivet.
