GREENVILLE, Penn. – Holding a lead with 3:59 minutes to play in the fourth quarter, the Kalamazoo College women's basketball team hoped to end its Pennsylvania roadtrip with a win, but the Thiel College Tomcats didn't back down. Thiel played well down the stretch, defeating Kalamazoo 83-74.

Kalamazoo trailed 46-39 at halftime, but the Hornets came out with revived energy in the third quarter. An 8-0 run over the first 2:01 of the second half put the Hornets ahead.

The Hornets extended their lead to as large as four with 4:57 to go in the fourth quarter off two free throws from Emily Kozal, but the Tomcats locked down defensively ending the game on a 15-1 run.

Kozal had a strong overall game for K recording a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Also scoring in double figures for Kalamazoo was Amanda Moss with 16 on 7-of-10 shooting.

The Hornets shot 45.5 percent from behind the arc.
