ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 75-38 in the Hornets' MIAA opener at No. 11 Trine University on Wednesday.
Kalamazoo led 7-2 in the opening minutes and led 12-9 after the first quarter.
The score was tied 17-17 with 5:58 left in the second quarter before Trine went on a 17-5 run to take a 34-22 lead into halftime.
The host Thunder quickly extended the lead in the second half on their way to improving to 7-1 (2-0 MIAA) on the season.
Amanda Moss led Kalamazoo with 14 points and three assists.
Kaytlyn Tidey added seven points while Sierra Fraser finished with six points and eight rebounds.
Kalamazoo returns home on Dec. 11 to face Calumet College at 7:30 p.m.
