Women's Basketball Falls to Heidelberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 82-47 to Heidelberg University on the opening day of the Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Tournament hosted by Wittenberg on Friday.

Kalamazoo trailed by just six (21-15) after the first quarter, but the Hornets were down 43-22 at halftime. Heidelberg outscored Kalamazoo by 11 (19-8) in the third quarter and won the fourth quarter 20-18.

Heidelberg shot 40.7 percent overall while limiting Kalamazoo to just 25 percent. Heidelberg grabbed 65 rebounds to Kalamazoo's 39, including a 27-14 advantage on the offensive end.

Kaytlyn Tidey led Kalamazoo with 14 points and four rebounds.

Georgie Andrews added nine points with 10 rebounds while Eliza McCall scored seven points.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to face Dubuque in the consolation game at noon on Saturday.
