KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team tipped off its season on Monday evening against Dominican and fell to the Stars 58-38.
After trailing by just one following the first quarter, the Hornets were outscored 10-8 in the second to reach the halftime break down 22-19.
The Stars outpaced the Hornets 17-16 in the third to extend their lead to four heading into the final quarter.
Kalamazoo was held to just 1-13 from the field in the final 10 minutes and was unable to muster up a comeback.
Isabelle Clark and Kaytlyn Tidey led Kalamazoo with 11 points each. Tidey added a team-high five assists.
Georgie Andrews tallied six points and collected 11 rebounds.
The Hornets return to action Nov. 15-16 at the Manchester Tournament. The first game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. against Westminster (Pa.).
