Women's Basketball Defeated at Home by Albion

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 84-40 at home by Albion College Wednesday night.

The score was tied 8-8 with 2:50 left in the first quarter before a 10-0 run by Albion made it 18-8 at the end of the quarter. The visiting Britons pulled away in the second quarter to take a 44-22 lead into halftime. After being outscored 25-2 in the third quarter, Kalamazoo outscored Albion 16-15 in the fourth.

Albion shot 52.9 percent overall from the field while shooting 64.7 percent in the second and third quarters. Kalamazoo was held to 26 percent overall despite shooting over 40 percent in the second and fourth quarters. Albion held a 44-33 advantage in rebounds and outscored Kalamazoo 52-14 in the paint.

Ten different Hornets scored at least a point in the game. Kaelyn Arlington led the Hornets with 13 points and six rebounds. Laila Vincent scored six points with four rebounds. Zenaida Sackett finished with five points.

Kalamazoo is back in action at home Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. against Trine.
