GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 70-29 at No. 22 Calvin College Wednesday night.
Kalamazoo scored the first basket of the game, but trailed 29-7 at the end of the first quarter after the Knights shot 57.1 percent during the first ten minutes. Kalamazoo trailed 45-12 at halftime.
Calvin shot 34.7 percent overall for the game while making 10-of-13 free throws. Kalamazoo was held to 15.1 percent overall while making 13-of-20 free throws. Calvin held a 57-41 advantage in rebounds.
Jackie Brines led Kalamazoo with 10 points.
Laila Vincent finished with nine points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots and a steal. Kylah Davis added five points with seven rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Olivet on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m.
