Women's Basketball Falls at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 70-41 at Albion College Saturday afternoon.

After falling behind 12-0 early, Kalamazoo trailed 18-4 at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets outscored Albion 10-8 in the second quarter to trail 26-14 at halftime. Albion pulled away in the third, outscoring Kalamazoo 28-10. Kalamazoo outscored Albion 17-10 in the final quarter.

Albion shot 41.8 percent overall while holding Kalamazoo to 27.7 percent. The Britons outrebounded Kalamazoo 40-36 overall, including 15-11 on the offensive end.

Jackie Brines led the Hornets with nine points.

Laila Vincent and Kaelyn Arlington both scored seven points with seven rebounds. Zenaida Sackett also scored seven points. Josee Cooke finished with six points and three rebounds.

Kalamazoo is back in action Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Trine.
