Women's Basketball Falls to Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 83-64 at home by Alma College on Wednesday. 

Kalamazoo trailed 25-10 after the first quarter and 49-31 at halftime. The Hornets trailed by as many as 31 points late in the third before cutting the final deficit to 19.

Alma shot 46.7 percent overall, while Kalamazoo shot 40 percent. The Scots made 18-of-22 free throws compared to 9-of-11 by the Hornets. Alma outrebounded Kalamazoo 44-26 overall, 11-5 on the offensive end.

Ruby Hogan led the Hornets with 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Jordan Wesaw added 12 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Kaelyn Arlington scored nine points with six rebounds. Sara English scored nine points with three rebounds and five assists.

Josee Cooked finished with seven points in 11 minutes off the bench.

Kalamazoo returns to action at home against Adrian on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m.
