GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 80-47 at Calvin University on Saturday.
Calvin jumped out to an early lead and led 24-11 after the first quarter. The host Knights also led 43-22 at halftime.
Calvin shot 48.4 percent overall while holding Kalamazoo to 29.6 percent. Calvin held a 37-36 edge in rebounds. Kalamazoo outrebounded Calvin 11-10 on the offensive end.
Jordan Wesaw led Kalamazoo with 11 points and five rebounds.
Ruby Hogan scored eight points with six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Jackie Brines scored eight points with five rebounds and three assists.
Sara English finished with seven points and three rebounds. Kaelyn Arlington scored five points with four rebounds.
Kalamazoo travels next to Alma College on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
