The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team had one player selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday (Mar. 26). Sara English was the lone representative for the Hornets.
To be selected for the award, the student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, have played at least 90% or start in 66% of their team's competitions, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
English started all 25 games this past season for Kalamazoo as the shooting guard. In 34.2 minutes per game, English averaged 9.6 points per game by shooting 31.4% from behind the three-point line and 73.6% from the free throw line. She also contributed 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. English finished with 50 made three-pointers this season, the eighth most in program history. English is double majoring in history and Spanish, with a 3.69 cumulative GPA. This is her second time appearing on the all-district team, and she is also a three-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll member.
Now that English has made the all-district team, she will move on to the CSC Academic All-American ballot, which will be announced in early April.
