KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team defeated Benedictine 17-4 on Sunday afternoon. The team is now 2-1 this season.
The Hornets got out to a 5-0 lead on the Eagles and never looked back. They held a 10-4 lead at the half and then scored seven unanswered in the second half.
Alivia DuQuet led the way for the Hornets with five goals while Vethania Stavropoulos and Anika Sproull combined to score seven goals together. Kalamazoo's defense was fantastic in the second half as it held the Eagles to zero goals. This was due in large part to a great game from Hornet goalkeeper Katie Johnson, who had nine saves.
The Hornets next game will be at Keuka on Wednesday, Mar. 25.
