Women's Lacrosse falls at Keuka College

PENN YAN, N.Y. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost 14-10 to Keuka College on Wednesday.

Kalamazoo scored the first two goals of the contest before giving up four straight goals and trailed 5-4 at halftime.

Kalamazoo regained the lead early in the second half (6-5) before giving up five straight goals to trail 10-6 with 17:07 remaining. The Hornets cut the deficit to three, including 13-10 with 2:32 remaining, but could not get any closer. 

Keuka had 28 total shots in the game compared to 20 for Kalamazoo. Keuka also led in ground balls (17-9) and draw controls (15-11). 

Anika Sproull led Kalamazoo offensively with four goals on six shots with two ground balls.

Vethania Stavropoulos scored twice on three shots while Nicole Huff scored twice on six shots.

Ivy McKee led Kalamazoo with three ground balls.

Kalamazoo returns home to open conference play against Adrian College on Wednesday, April 1 at 7 p.m.
