KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Hannah Heeren of the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was honored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as the Hornet of the Week for her performance in the team's first game last Sunday.
Freshman midfielder Heeren scored three goals on five shots attempted in Kalamazoo's 14-3 victory over Adrian College on Feb. 21. Heeren also collected four ground balls and secured two draw controls.
"In her first college game, Hannah made an impact across the stat sheet on both the offensive and defensive ends of the field," Head Coach Jess Smith said. "She showed tremendous composure against a very physical team, scored three goals, and contributed to a defensive effort that held Adrian to only six shots in the game."
The Hornets return to action on Saturday, Feb. 27 against Calvin at Grand Rapids Christian High School.
