Women's Lacrosse Falls at Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost 19-4 at Calvin on Wednesday.

Calvin scored the first goal less than 30 seconds into the game. Kalamazoo tied it up with a goal five minutes later. After Calvin pulled ahead 3-1, Kalamazoo made it 3-2 with 4:01 left in the first. Calvin scored the last two goals of the quarter to take a 5-2 lead. 

Calvin scored seven unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.

Calvin outshot Kalamazoo 37-17 including 29-13 on goal. The Hornets held a 13-11 advantage in draw controls.

Mackenzie Maiorano led the Hornets with two goals and an assist.

Hannah Heeren scored a goal while leading the team with six draw controls. Rose Bogard had a goal and an assist with four draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Jordan Flink and Vivian Schmidt each ad three ground balls.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Trine on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m.
