The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won 1-0 in overtime at North Central College on Sunday.
Maya Smolcic's game-winning goal gave the Hornets the win with just 30 seconds remaining in overtime. C.J. McCarthy was credited with the assist.
Kalamazoo outshot North Central 16-8 overall, although the Cardinals held a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Lucy Mailing earned her first career shutout making six saves in goal.
Kalamazoo is scheduled to play the first home game and first night game on new MacKenzie Field on Friday, Sept. 7 against DePauw University (Ind.) at 7 p.m.
