Soccer Celebration Day for the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was dampened by a 1-0 loss to visiting Saint Mary's (Ind.) on Saturday.
The Belles' Mollie Valencia scored the game's only tally in the 88th minute.
K put four of eight shots on net, with Maria Rich, C.J. McCarthy, and Maya Smolcic each putting an attempt on target.
Freshman keeper Lucy Mailing made five saves in net, while her counterpart, Chanler Rosenbaum of St. Mary's, saved all four shots on goal for the shutout.
Kalamazoo falls to 6-4-0 overall after the non-league setback. The Hornets will travel to face Calvin on Oct. 6, giving them a week off after four matches in 11 days.
