The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won 1-0 in overtime at Trine on Wednesday.
Neither team was able to score through 80 minutes of regulation before the game was delayed 38 minutes due to lightning. The game eventually continued through regulation without a goal.
Kalamazoo was awarded a penalty kick three minutes into overtime and Natalie Reszka successfully converted to give Kalamazoo the win.
The Hornets outshot Trine 26-3 overall, including 12-3 on goal.
Lucy Mailing made three saves in goal for the shutout.
Kalamazoo returns to action at Alma on Saturday, Oct. 20 at noon.
