The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won 5-0 at Alma on Saturday.
Maya Smolcic gave Kalamazoo a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. The Hornets held the 1-0 lead through halftime.
C.J. McCarthy lifted the Hornets to a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 59th minute (Jackie Short assist).
Short scored in the 68th minute (Natalie Reszka assist). Reszka added her own goal in the 78th minute on an assist from Short.
Emily Gray closed out the scoring with a goal in the 84th minute (Jordan Lewis assist).
Each team had 13 shots in the game with Kalamazoo holding a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Lucy Mailing made four saves in goal to earn the shutout.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Olivet on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
