KALAMAZOO, Mich. - One goal was all it took for the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team to come away victorious Saturday afternoon as it came away with a 1-0 win against Albion College in rainy conditions at MacKenzie Field.

"Being the last week of the season it is critical that we are playing well both individually and collectively," Head Coach Bryan Goyings said. "In less than ideal conditions I was very pleased to come away with three points today. I thought we really limited Albion's chances and Grace had a big save in each half to keep Albion off the board."

Madison Moote struck for her 8th goal of the season when she received as pass from Allie Brodsky, beat a defender and slotted it past a diving Maggie Troost.

Moote's eight goals are the most for the Hornets this season. Brodsky's assist was her third assist this year.

Grace Smith collected her seventh clean sheet of the year in goal, making three saves in the match.

Kalamazoo will close out the regular season this Tuesday, Nov. 2 when they take on Olivet at MacKenzie Field. The game will determine the No. 3 seed in the MIAA postseason tournament.

"This result was a very good way to begin what is the most exciting week of the season," Goyings said.
