WHEATON, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team defeated Aurora 4-0 at Wheaton on Friday.

Josie Sibley put the Hornets on the board first with a goal in the 23rd minute.

After taking the 1-0 lead into halftime, Kalamazoo scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half to go up 3-0 with goals by Libby Munoz and Joy Hunziker.

Hunziker scored again in the 73rd minute to make it 4-0.

Sarah George assisted on both goals early in the second half. Hunziker and Kai Ketola assisted the first goal while Julie Zabik had the assist on the fourth.

Kalamazoo outshot Aurora 13-3 overall, including 9-1 on goal.

Hannah Wolfe saved the one shot on goal to preserve the shutout.

"The team did a tremendous job controlling the game from start to finish," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings. "It was fantastic to see Joy get on the scoresheet. She has to really battle physically throughout the game.

"Before the game we discussed the importance of scoring first and posting a shutout," Goyings added. "I think reaching both of those goals was important for us this afternoon."

Kalamazoo returns to action Saturday night when the Hornets take on the host Wheaton Thunder.
