KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team picked up its first conference win Tuesday evening with a 2-0 victory over Trine.

Kalamazoo got on the board early when freshman Kai Ketola connected on a goal in the 11th minute. Julie Zabik assisted on the play.

The Hornets extended its lead in the 56th minute when Libby Munoz scored her eighth goal of the season. Ketola picked up the assist.

Goalie Hannah Wolfe led the defense to the fifth shut out of the season. Wolfe added two saves to her season total.

Coach Bryan Goyings said, "It was a complete team effort tonight. Julie Zabik was excellent in the midfield and did a great job setting up Kai (Ketola) on the first goal. The early goal was key and really allowed us to establish control of the game early on."

Kalamazoo will look to continue its strong play on Saturday, Oct. 6 as they travel to Adrian for a match scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
