KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Monday afternoon that Hannah Wolfe of the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was honored as Defensive Player of the Week.

Wolfe, a junior from West Bloomfield, Mich. (Bloomfield Hills HS), held Hope College to zero goals in Kalamazoo's lone match of the week. This marked Wolfe's second shutout of the season as the keeper also kept MSOE off the board in the season opener.

Wolfe now leads the MIAA in saves on the season at 63 as she is 18 ahead of second place. Wolfe also sits in fourth in the conference in save percentage at .840.

"It is fantastic to have Hannah recognized for her efforts this past week," said Coach Bryan Goyings. "Even though she may have only posted four saves in the game, she really did well reading through balls and collecting crosses to limit the opponent's attack throughout the match."

The Hornets continue MIAA play on Saturday, Oct. 5 as they host Calvin at 5 p.m. for their home opener.
