Seven seniors on the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team had the opportunity to recognize their Most Valuable Professors prior to their game on Saturday evening at MacKenzie Field.

The Hornets selected Mr. Chuck Stull (Business), Dr. Regina Stevens-Truss (Chemistry), Dr. Katerina Stefatos (Women, Gender, and Sexuality), Dr. Francisco Villegas (Anso), Dr. Sara Tanis (Biology), Dr. Dwight Williams (Chemistry), and Dr. Stephen Oloo (Math).

Georgie Andrews selected Mr. Chuck Stull because she enjoyed being his supplemental instruction leader for a couple of classes. Chuck serves as Georgie's advisor and says he always gives her good advice.

Dr. Regina Stevens-Truss was chosen as Amiee Hutton's MVP because Aimee spent an entire summer with Dr. Stevens-Truss working on her senior individualized project. She appreciates the countless skills Dr. Stevens-Truss taught her and the confidence she instilled in her.

Rosella LoChirco tabbed Dr. Katerina Stefatos as her MVP. Rosella claims that Dr. Stefatos has gone above and beyond when it comes to supporting her. She feels extremely lucky to have her as a role model and to have her guidance in class, future plans, and life in general.

Libby Munoz selected Dr. Francisco Villegas as her Most Valuable Professor. Dr. Villegas is the reason that Libby decided to pursue an Anso major and she claims he goes above and beyond to set his students up for success, not only at K but in life after school, as well. He continuously pushes Libby to get out of her comfort zone and she is grateful for that.

Dr. Sara Tanis was the professor Maddie Odom picked as her MVP. Maddie appreciates Dr. Tanis' ability to make class engaging and relevant to students. She is grateful for her guidance with her senior individualized project and claims she can count on Dr. Tanis for anything.

Madison Vallan selected Dr. Dwight Williams as her Most Valuable Professor. Madison appreciated that Dr. Williams' door is always open to help with class and to discuss career and internship opportunities. Dr. Williams has been a great mentor to Madison and she is grateful for the advice and direction he provides.

The final MVP is Dr. Stephen Oloo and was selected by Julie Zabik. Julie claims that Dr. Oloo is an exceptional professor who makes difficult classes manageable to understand. She appreciates his support at soccer games and his understanding when she would miss a class due to traveling for soccer.

All Kalamazoo College senior student-athletes will recognize their Most Valuable Professors throughout the 2019-20 season.
