KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Josie Sibley of the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was honored by the MIAA on Monday afternoon as this week's Offensive Player of the Week.

Sibley, a junior from Scotts, Mich. (Portage Central HS), scored Kalamazoo's lone goal of the week in a 1-0 victory over Calvin in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.

The goal advanced the Hornets to the MIAA semifinals for the first time since 2016.

Sibley was a consistent offensive threat for Kalamazoo as she played all 90 minutes in the match and had three shot opportunities that were on goal.

This was Sibley's second goal of the season as she also scored earlier in the season in a 3-0 win over Hiram.

"Josie's goal was a fine example of diligence and hard work," said Coach Bryan Goyings. "She made a run into the goal area, established position between the ball and the defender and was then able to drill the serve into the net from close range. In addition to the goal, Josie had a superb game that included several excellent scoring opportunities."

Sibley and the Hornets now look ahead to their semifinal match on Tuesday at Hope. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
