HOLLAND, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Hope College Saturday afternoon at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
Hope's 26 shots tested the Hornet defense, while Destiny Garcia paced K with five of her squad's nine shots on the afternoon. Cassidy Short racked up 11 saves in goal for the Hornets.
"We struggled to match Hope's energy and we were never really able to get into an offensive rhythm," said Kalamazoo head coach Bryan Goyings. "They forced us to defend for long stretches and that proved difficult for us to overcome."
The Hornets (10-4-0, 4-3-0) will need to regroup quickly as they will close out the regular season Tuesday with a 7 p.m. road trip to Calvin College.
