KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving teams won its second straight dual meet with a 166-127 win over the Britons of Albion College.

"The women's meet went well overall," Kalamazoo Head Coach Kathy Milliken said. "I am pleased with our improvement from last weekend."

The Hornets opened the meet with a win in the 200 yard medley relay. The K team of Christina Park, Jessica Varana, Colleen Orwin, and Tristyn Edsall turned in a time of 1:52.48, more than four seconds faster than the second place team.

Orwin continued her winning ways placing first in the 200 yard freestyle as well as beating the field by nearly 20 seconds in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:46.94. The time garnered praise from Milliken.

"What an outsanding race," said Milliken. "That is the fastest in-season 400 IM we've ever had at Kalamazoo College."

The Hornets took second, third, and fourth place in the 100 yard backstroke Miranda Doepker and Park won the 200 yard breaststroke and 200 yard backstroke respectively.

Edsall turned in a fabulous time of 25.42 in the 50 yard freestyle. The time was good enough to beat the field by a full second.

"Tristyn [Edsall] swam a pretty good race," Milliken said.

Kalamazoo finished out the meet with Katie Callaghan winning the three meter dive and the relay team of Hannah Olsen , Park, Doepker, and Edsall winning the 200 yard freestyle relay.

The Hornets return to action Saturday, Nov. 9, when they host the Hope Flying Dutch for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
