Park helps women's swimming & diving set Friday records

HOLLAND, Mich. - Kalamazoo College's Christina Park was part of three record breaking performances at the MIAA Championships on Friday.

Park twice set the school record in the 100 Backstroke, swimming it in :59.19 during prelims and then in :59.09 while finishing fourth in the finals this evening.

Park also led off the 200 Medley Relay (Park, Ellen Neveux, Colleen Orwin, Tristyn Edsall) on Friday as the Hornets won the event with a school and MIAA record time of 1:44.72.

Colleen Orwin finished second in the 400 Individual Medley with an NCAA "B" time of 4:30.95. Lauren Seroka finished second in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:55.49.

Kalamazoo finished second and third in the 100 Butterfly. Hannah Olsen finished second (:58.63) while Miranda Doepker (:59.00) finished third.

Kalamazoo is currently in third place with one day of competition remaining. The Hornets have 480 points and trail Hope (480) by just two points in second and Calvin (506) by 26 points in first.
