Misra Named MIAA Swimmer of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced on Monday that Camille Misra of the women's swimming and diving team was honored as this week's Swimmer of the Week. 

Misra, a freshman from Birmingham, Mich. (Cranbrook Kingswood), had a big week for the Hornets against Hope as she finished first in both of her individual races and tallied another victory in one of her two relays. 

In the 100 Backstroke, Misra touched the wall in 1:00.44 en route to victory. She also won the 100 Freestyle with a time of :55.86. 

In her relay events, Misra led off the 400 Freestyle as the team finished at 3:45.45 to take first place. Misra led off the 200 Medley Relay as well and paced the team to a second-place finish at 1:57.93.

This marks the first time in her young career that Misra has been named the MIAA Swimmer of the Week. 

Kalamazoo returns to the pool on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Alma for its final meet before the MIAA Championships on Feb. 19-22.
