Women's Swimming & Diving Participates at the Davenport Quad

KENTWOOD, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team participated in the Davenport Quad on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 4-5). The Hornets competed against Davenport, Hope, and DePauw at the meet, finishing fourth with 369 points. The Panthers scored the most points, with the Tigers coming in second and the Flying Dutch in third.

Kalamazoo had 13 top-eight finishes in the 14 events. Camille Misra led the Hornets by winning the 100 Back at 59.20 while finishing second in the 50 Free (24.92) and the 200 Back (2:10.11). Misra was also in four different relays that placed in the top eight.

The 200 Free Relay with Misra, Olivia Bagwell, Ava Williams, and Mya Richter finished fifth at 1:43.11. Also finishing fifth was the 400 Medley Relay as Misra, Richter, Mary Muenzenmaier, and Frannie Turner hit the wall at 4:13.81. Coming in seventh was that same team in the 200 Medley Relay at 1:56.33. Finally, Misra, Turner, Williams, and Richter came in eighth at 3:49.85.

Tuner collected a sixth-place finish in the 200 Fly at 2:22.24. M. Muenzenmaier had two other seventh-place finishes in the 100 (1:12.86) and 200 Breast (2:40.92). A couple of eighth-place finishes rounded out the swimming accolades as Richter had a 25.89 in the 50 Free, and Elizabeth Muenzenmaier finished at 2:24.50 in the 200 Breast.

The lone top-eight finish for the diving squad was Sofie Santos in the 3-meter. She finished with 193.42 points in the event.

The Hornets will host their next meet on Nov. 11 in the Natatorium. Kalamazoo, Calvin, and Olivet will begin the tri-meet at 5 p.m.
