Frannie Turner of the Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team was named the SAAC Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday (Nov. 7).
Kalamazoo continued its season by hosting DePauw in an unscored dual on Nov. 3 and then Chicago, DePauw, and Hope in the Kalamazoo Quad on Nov. 4. The Hornets finished fourth in the Kalamazoo Quad.
Turner was the top point scorer for the Hornets by finishing third in the 200 Fly (2:24.24) and fifth in the 400 IM (5:02.97) at the Kalamazoo Quad. She was also a part of the 400 Free and 200 Medley relays that finished sixth and seventh with times of 3:53.22 and 1:59.02. Turner is Kalamazoo's top 200 Fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM swimmer in her second collegiate season, with top times of 2:23.85, 2:22.87, and 5:02.97. Her top times in her career for those events are 2:15.99, 2:16.80, and 4:50.53, which came last season.
Kalamazoo will continue its season with a three-day road meet on Thursday-Saturday (Nov. 30-Dec. 2) at the Wooster Invite.
