Becca Zoetewey of the Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team was named the SAAC Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday (Dec. 5).
Kalamazoo continued its season by competing in the three-day Wooster Invite on Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The Hornets finished fifth out of 10 teams by scoring 715 points.
Zoetewey competed in an event that was an 11-dive versus a 6-dive competition for the first time this season. Against nine other teams, she was able to win the 3-meter and 1-meter diving events, scoring 323.40 and 306.40 points, respectively. As a senior, Zoetewey's best scores from 11 dive events are 323.40 in the 3-meter and 315.65 in the 1-meter. She also has career bests in the six dive events, with 196.30 points in the 3-meter and 189.05 points in the 1-meter.
Kalamazoo will continue its season after the winter break in the Michigan-Illinois Quad on Saturday (Jan. 13) while hosting a diving event on the same day.
