The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team lost 5-4 in a regional matchup at Kenyon College on Saturday.
Kenyon is ranked No. 12 in the region while Kalamazoo is ranked No. 15.
Kalamazoo jumped out to a 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches.
Kenyon won four straight singles matches, however, to take a 4-3 lead. Sarah Woods' 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles evened the score at 4-4, but Kenyon pulled out a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles to win the match.
Woods and Olivia Bouchard won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. Jenna Riehl and Anna Latala won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Kelsey Moran and Cheryl Zhang won 9-7 at No. 3 doubles.
Later in the day, Kalamazoo lost 5-0 to No. 13 Carnegie Mellon University.
The Tartans swept all three doubles points, including a narrow 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles.
Carnegie Mellon closed out the match with a pair of straight set wins in singles.
The Hornets return to conference action with a match at Albion at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20.
