Women's Tennis sweeps Adrian 9-0

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team has yet to drop a flight in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. After defeating Olivet 9-0 yesterday (March 29), Kalamazoo swept Adrian College 9-0 Sunday, March 30, to improve to 7-2 on the season and 2-0 in MIAA play.

For the second consecutive match, the Hornets did not drop a game in doubles, winning all three flights 8-0.

Freshman Sabrina Dass was first off the court in singles defeating Kathryn Van Wormer 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles. Kalamazoo clinched the match when senior Kelsey Moran defeated Morgan Spencer by the same score at third singles.

Freshman Sarah Woods, ranked No. 1 in the Central Region by itatennis.com, defeated Arielle Williams 6-2, 6-0 at first singles.

Senior Jenna Riehl and sophomore Ania Latala won second and fifth singles respectively. Each surrendered only two games in their victories. Junior Olivia Bouchard defeated Victoria Watson 6-2, 6-4 at sixth singles.

Kalamazoo returns to action Tuesday, April 1 for a 4:00 p.m. match at Hope College, the defending MIAA champions.
