Women's Tennis improves to 5-0 in MIAA with 9-0 win over Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team improved to 5-0 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association with a 9-0 win over Calvin on Wednesday at Stowe Stadium.

Kalamazoo swept all three doubles flights highlighted by an 8-0 victory at first doubles by senior Jenna Riehl and sophomore Sarah Woods. The Hornets won second and third doubles each by a score of 8-4.

Seniors Kelsey Moran and Riehl clinched the match with victories at third and second singles respectively. Woods also defeated Megan Visser 6-1, 6-1 at first singles.

In the bottom half of the singles lineup, freshman Sabrina Dass defeated Ellie Benzel 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles. Sophomore Ania Latala won her fifth singles flight 6-4, 6-0 while junior Olivia Bouchard defeated Courtney Selvius 6-4, 6-1 at sixth singles.

Kalamazoo returns to action April 12 for a 2:00 p.m. match at Denison (Ohio).
