KALAMAZOO, MI - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team defeated Ohio Wesleyan today 9-0. The Hornets are 2-0 this season and are still yet to drop a set.
Doubles got it rolling early for the Hornets as Cheryl Zhang and Carrie Foura blanked the Battling bishops 8-0. This was followed by another shutout victory by the tandem of Maria Franco and Olivia Bouchard and doubles was closed in a solid 8-2 victory by Kalamazoo's No. 1 doubles Sarah Woods and Sabrina Dass.
Maria Franco had a most impressive day, as she won her No.3 singles 6-1, 6-0, and closed out her game before anyone. Olivia Bouchard finished right behind her after defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-1, in No.4 singles.
Kalamazoo will now have a two week break before traveling to Ohio Northern on Sunday, Feb. 22.
