KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Caroline Norton of the Kalamazoo College women's tennis team was named SAAC Hornet of the Week for her performance in the team's season opener on Saturday.
Norton, a junior from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Skyline) defeated Alma's Brooke Butterfield 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles spot. She teamed up with Renee Torres at No. 2 doubles to earn an 8-4 victory. The Hornets went on to defeat Alma 9-0 in their home opener.
Norton moves up to the No. 1 singles slot after primarily playing at No. 4 in 2019. She holds a 23-10 overall singles record and is a perfect 8-0 in MIAA play.
This is Caroline's first time receiving SAAC Hornet of the Week honors.
Kalamazoo is scheduled to play next at Saint Mary's on Thursday, March 25 at 4 p.m.
