Sophie Zhuang was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
A junior from Northville, Mich. (Northville), Zhuang was 2-2 in a pair of matches last week. She helped the Hornets to an 8-1 win over Saint Mary's with an 8-6 win at two doubles with Meghan Killmaster, and a 6-0, 6-4 win at two singles. In a match at Division I Western Michigan University, Zhuang lost at two doubles while playing a competitive match at three singles.
On the season, Zhuang is 5-0 in singles in MIAA play and 4-0 in doubles.
Kalamazoo returns to action Tuesday afternoon with a home match against Albion at 4 p.m.
