Olivia Wolfe of the Kalamazoo College women's tennis team was selected as the MIAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday (Apr. 29). This is the first time in her four-year career that the senior has earned the honor.
The Hornets finished the regular season with a home MIAA match against Trine and defeated the Thunder 9-0.
Wolfe teamed up with Ivy Walker in the #2 doubles match and won 8-3. Then, she was the second singles match to finish and clinched the team victory with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the #6 spot. This win secured Kalamazoo's place in the MIAA Tournament as the #4 seed.
Wolfe finished the regular season with a 5-3 conference doubles record (10-11 overall) and played all 18 of her dual matches with Walker in the #2 spot. In singles action, Wolfe went 4-3 in MIAA matches and played in the #4, #5, and #6 slots this season. After not playing last season due to studying abroad, Wolfe previously had a 2-1 doubles record (2-0 MIAA) before this season.
Kalamazoo will turn its focus to the MIAA Tournament by traveling to #1-seeded Hope on Thursday (May 2), beginning at 4 p.m.
