Volleyball splits Saturday matches

The Kalamazoo College volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches at Hiram College (Ohio) on Saturday.

In the opener, Kalamazoo defeated Ohio Wesleyan 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.

Nya Greenstone led the Hornets with 10 kills.

Johanna Kupe had nine kills and a .389 attack percentage.

Quinn McCormick and Olivia Cares each finished with six kills, while Kelsey Hill added five.

Alex Gothard had 31 assists while Allison Liddane had 16 digs.

Kalamazoo lost the second match to Hiram 26-24, 25-21, 25-12.

McCormick led Kalamazoo with 10 kills and a .444 attack percentage. Greenstone had six kills.

Gothard finished with 21 assists while Liddane again had 16 digs. Morgan Clothier added 10 digs for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Trine on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
