Volleyball falls in four sets at Saint Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost 3-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play at Saint Mary's College on Friday.

After dropping the first two sets (25-15, 25-19), Kalamazoo won the third set, 25-21. The host Belles recovered and clinched the match with a 25-19 win in set four.

Saint Mary's hit .188 for the match compared to .121 for Kalamazoo. The Belles had six more service aces than the Hornets as well as four more team blocks.

Nya Greenstone led Kalamazoo with 19 kills while setting a conference record for attack attempts in a four-set match with 67.

Kaela Van Til added nine kills while Paige Johnson and Kelsey Hill each had five.

Alex Gothard had 35 assists with 14 digs. Logan Horejsi led the team with 23 digs while Dana Devito had 17.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday with a match at Adrian College.
