KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener 3-1 to Alma College at home on Wednesday.
Kalamazoo lost the opening set 25-22, but responded by winning the second set 25-17. Alma won the final two sets each by a score of 25-18.
Shelby Suseland had a strong first set and finished with six kills and four aces. Noa Yaakoby also finished with six kills.
Hannah Kline, Olivia Cares and Kaela Van Til each had five kills.
Paige Johnson recorded 27 assists and nine digs. Logan Horejsi led the Hornets with 23 digs while Dana DeVito had 10 digs.
Kalamazoo (1-4, 0-1 MIAA) returns to action Friday night at Calvin before hosting Trine on Saturday at 11 a.m.
