HANCOCK, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team defeated Mount Mary University (Wis.) 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-9) in the Hornets' opening match at Finlandia on Friday. Kalamazoo followed with another 3-0 win over Silver Lake (Wis.) (25-22, 25-6, 25-7).
Shamari Browning led Kalamazoo with eight kills and seven digs against Mount Mary.
Sidney Wall posted seven kills while Rachel Girard and Maria Katrantzi each had six.
Paige Johnson led the team with 18 assists while Katrantzi had a team-high 13 digs.
Maria Katrantzi led the Hornets with 10 kills and a .474 attack percentage against Silver Lake.
Sidney Wall had seven kills again while Shelby Suseland added five.
Paige Johnson recorded 17 assists while Kaiya Herman-Hilker had 12.
Dana DeVito had 11 digs while Kennedy Boulton recorded five aces.
The Hornets wrap up the trip with a pair of matches on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
