Volleyball Defeated by No. 1 Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost in three sets to No. 1 Calvin College Wednesday.

Calvin won the opening set 25-15, but the Hornets led early in the second set and were still up 17-15 at one point. The score was tied 18-18 before the Knights scored four straight points and seven of the last eight to win the set 25-19. Kalamazoo trailed 15-11 in the third before eventually going down 25-14. Kalamazoo won the first point in each set.

Madi Goodman led the Hornets with six kills. Rachel Girard, Shelby Suseland and Kate Schultz each had four.

Grace Kraft finished with 18 assists while Maddie Wojcik had 12 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to action at home next Tuesday, Oct. 2 with a 7 p.m. match against Hope.
