Volleyball Defeated by North Park

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost in three sets to North Park on Friday.

All three sets were competitive with North Park pulling away 25-21, 28-26, 25-20.

Kalamazoo led 21-20 in the first set before the Vikings scored five straight to win the set.

Kalamazoo led 22-19 in the second set before falling behind 24-23 and fighting off three set points before eventually falling 28-26.

Kalamazoo led 16-11 in the third set before a 7-0 run put the Vikings up 18-16. Kalamazoo stayed within striking distance at 22-19 before North Park scored three of the final four points to win the set and the match.

North Park hit .228 in the match compared to .165 for Kalamazoo.

Madi Goodman led the Hornets with 14 kills and a .379 attack percentage. Hannah Kerns added eight kills while Lindsey Nedd had six.

Grace Kraft led Kalamazoo with 30 assists while Taylor Ferguson had a team-high 18 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to league play on Tuesday, Oct. 22 when the Hornets host Albion at 7 p.m.
