Volleyball Competes at NCAC/MIAA Crossover

GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College volleybal team lost 3-1 to both Hiram College and DePauw University on Friday.

Kalamazoo vs. Hiram

In Kalamazoo's opening match, the Hornets were defeated 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22 in a close match. There were 31 tie scores and 10 lead changes in the four sets.

Kalamazoo hit .173 in the match compared to .098 by Hiram, but Hiram held advantages in service aces and blocks.

Emma Stickley led the Hornets with 11 kills and a .471 percentage.

Toni Koshmider and Claire Davis each had 10 kills.

Sara Reathaford posted 25 assists, while Jana Molby added 15. Lizzy Rachiele had 23 digs. Rachel Meston finished with 10.

Kalamazoo vs. DePauw

Kalamazoo was defeated 25-16, 25-13, 22-25, 25-12 by host DePauw University Friday evening. The competitive third set saw nine ties and six lead changes.

Taylor Stephens led the Hornets with seven kills.

Sara Reathaford had 11 assists, while Rorie Dougherty finished with seven.

Lizzy Rachiele had 13 digs. Reathaford and Halley Johnson each had nine.
