OBERLIN, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team had four members compete at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College.

Freshman Anna Varitek led the Hornets as she placed 103rd overall with a time of 23:38. Her time was nearly one minute faster than her run in the season's first meet at Calvin.

Rachael Gallap crossed the finish line at 24:21 as she placed 162nd overall and was more than one minute quicker than her 25:20 finish at Calvin.

A 25:54 finish by Gwendolyn Flatland also lowered her time by more than a minute as she came in at 26:58 at Calvin's Knight Invite.

Kathryn LeVasseur rounded out the Kalamazoo runners with a time of 26:55. The junior improved by nearly two minutes from the season's start as she crossed in 28:51 at Calvin.

"I am very pleased with the results from today," said Coach Kyle Morrison. "They don't capture the hard work that has taken place throughout the season and particularly the last two weeks. Now the work is done and it's time to freshen up. Lots more to come at conference and regionals."

The Hornets return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the MIAA Championships at Trine University.
